For instance, Teochew families typically opt for a 4-piece jewelry set, while Cantonese and Hokkien families may focus on acquiring one or two pieces of jewelry. In the past, solid gold was favored by older, more traditional relatives and in-laws due to its intrinsic value. However, nowadays, it's increasingly common to find Si Dian Jin sets crafted from 9K, 14K, or 18K gold in contemporary designs. This appeals to modern brides and in-laws who prefer jewelry that can be worn beyond the wedding day and enjoyed daily.
When you should buy your Si Dian Jin?

We advise families to procure the Si Dian Jin 四点金 after the bride has finalized her choice of traditional attire, which the jewelry will complement, and before the Guo Da Li ceremony. This ensures that whether the Si Dian Jin 四点金 is intended to match a cheongsam, kua, or an evening dress, it's beneficial to have the attire in mind before beginning the jewelry shopping process.
When should Si Dian Jin be given?

Around 2 to 4 weeks before the wedding, the groom's family will visit the bride's house on an auspicious date to deliver betrothal gifts including the Si Dian Jin.
